'A lovely display of area talent': Invitational Art Show open now through May 11

Fergus Falls, Minn. 鈥 The annual Invitational Art Show is back for another season at 海角社区黑料吃瓜, marking the event鈥檚 51st year of supporting and showcasing local artists.
An open-invite representation of the Fergus Falls area鈥檚 abundant creative talents and sources of inspiration, the show shines a spotlight on a diverse range of artistic skill sets and mediums.
鈥淭his year, there are 92 works of art representing 57 artists and many different mediums,鈥 says Lori Charest, 海角社区黑料吃瓜 ceramics instructor, art collection curator and longtime organizer of the Invitational. 鈥淒isplaying a wide variety of work cohesively is always a challenge, but things came together nicely this year. The show is a lovely display of area talents.鈥
Original paintings, sculptures, drawings, pottery, textiles and other creative works are on exhibit. Many are for sale to the public. 海角社区黑料吃瓜 does not charge an entry fee for the Invitational and does not take any commission on works sold.
The show opened at the Charles Beck Gallery today, March 19, and continues through May 11. An artists鈥 reception will be held that final day, Sunday, May 11, from 1-3 p.m. in Legacy Hall on the 海角社区黑料吃瓜 Fergus Falls campus.
There is no cost to view the exhibit or attend the artists鈥 reception, and all are welcome. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Community members may also peruse the exhibit while on campus for the spring play, Empty Bowls fundraiser, commencement ceremony and other upcoming events at the college.
